Default GSi Occasionally Jumping out of 1st gear-possible fix from Vauxhall soon!

Hi guys,
wonder if anyone on here has experienced a similar problem with their Mk4 Astra GSi (Z20LET).
Usually at least once a week my car will jump out of 1st gear. This only happens when changing from reverse to 1st with the car still rolling slightly (Pulling off my drive in the morning), or when approaching a junction/set of lights and you put it into 1st while still rolling slightly. When you put it into 1st and lift the clutch/raise revs slightly to pull away, it throws it out of 1st and you go nowhere. Put it back into 1st and its fine.
Seems to happen mostly when cold, 1st thing in the morning, but happens when warm at junctions etc???
Any suggestions as to what could be up??

Ok mate, cheers for the reply!
Its been into the stealers under warranty, apparently they checked the gear selector cables, re aligned them etc and changed the gearbox oil (which they have just rang me up, 2 weeks later, to say I have to pay for as its not covered by the warranty, but they didnt ask for my consent before doing this so I told them to sod off!) but its still doing it.
Its going back in on Monday so was just wondering if anyone on here has an idea what it may be? Problem is, it doesn't do it all the time, and whenever they've had the car they cant fault it!?

i had mine back at the dealers 4 times to try and explain what was wrong but even after leaving it with them overnight twice they still couldnt tell me what was wrong as they said it didnt do it with them so they wouldnt do anything as they say theirs not a problem. mind you they were peugeot mechanics (its a used coupe turbo) so wouldnt expect much from them. i know theres a fix that vauxhall have for the synchro mesh or something that they only replace part of the system. this might be for another gear box mind you but ill try and double check that for you.

i dont know much about it either price or what it actualy involves but im sure someone already discussed fitting this i dont think its any more difficult than fitting a quick shifter. you could try asking one of the moderators, Ffoeg perhaps he seems quite clued up on things or he could point you in the write direction.
