Question Coolant Light Flasing

Anybody know of any common faults where the coolant light keeps coming on and going off at all differnt times. I had the air con re gassed 4 months ago and havent used it recently but noticed today when I got out with the engine running I heard the small air con fan spinning up. Anybody had this?

what engine you got?

Have you physically checked the coolant level in the header/expansion bottle?

My computer flashed up that the Coolant level was low on Tuesday, and to my surprise the header bottle was almost empty....strange as Im positive it was all there on the previous saturday.
Then last night the light computer flashed it up again! Checked the level this morning and it was fine.

Reckon a trip to vxl maybe in order.

Could also be bad fuel. If you plug in a tech 2 you may get fault logged "fuel trim sensor". Mine did the same yet cooling system was ok.

Could also be a vacuum leak. Check al vacuum lines.

flashed the warning up again this lunchtime...checked the coolant and it was fine.
The day I ignore the warning will be the day there really is no coolant!

had this light come on intermitantly on my car and the engine temp gauge showed 0 even though the car was hot. replaced the engine temp sensor and it cured it. this was after my vaux dealer replaced the stat but not the sensor that goes into the stat
