Default please help zlet peeps in the know :D

last week i had new bcs's(boost solinides) and a new vxr actuator fitted. car was set up on the road not rollers.(85 quid an hour for 1-2bhp was not an option!)

but for a while before i have been hearing a hissing noise? could not find it and was waiting for it to get worse. car still ran well. anyway had vxr actuator fitted and set up last week. today when i got home i lifted bonnet and i found the air leak. lol. there is a small straw type boost pipe going to the back of engine to a sensor like a bcs (vacum pipe?) and it was off? i dont know what pipe it is??? it seems to come from back of engine, up side by side with boost gauge pipe work and i think it goes under air filter(maybe to ecu?) anyway seeing as i have cured this leak, what is this pipe and would it effect boost? would the actuator set up now be wrong? (would there be too much boost or not enough? on the gauge its idling at -15 if this helps (sure it used to be -20! which courtenays said is good)

please please if you can let me know i would be very greatfull

thanks

Hi mate, thats the pipe that comes from the rear boost controll solenoid to the standard dump valve. Has your car got an aftermarket dump valve fitted ???? with the stanadard d/v pipe disconnected (without a spacer fitted inside the standard d/v) the car would have been leaking boost.
