take the glove box out (4 torx screws) then mine went under the plastic scuttle pannel and thru the filter on the far right of the car or theres plenty of grommits can drill thru under glovey best place mate

Taken from the how to's

Running power cable from engine bay

1) Remove tray to reveal fuse box, and give more room
2) Locate where the bonnet release cable goes through the engine bay
3) Look to the left of this slightly above, and there should be a spare grommet.
4) Remove the grommet by pushing it from the engine bay into the car and make a hole through it for the size of cable being used
5) Push cable through the grommet and Re-fit

Pictures (not the best though):

Looking through with the fuse box tray removed

Looking through from underneath

As long as you're driving an astra without a throttle cable and its drive by wire then the grommet on the drivers side beneath the steering is by far the best way to go and run the power down the drivers side. As said, follow the how to above or in the how to section

Then run your speaker/phono cables down the passenger side

Unless you drive a factory converted LPG fly-by-wire....the sods used that spare grommet for the LPG/Petrol switch near the gearstick!

But yep, in general that's the easiest way to go, no drilling, dead easy.

Welcome mate

In all honesty if your not confident in removing the negative battery terminal (which just needs a 10mm spanner but it doesn;t really need to be removed) i'd suggest getting a expert to do it for you
