(P0100) fault code swapped maf for a good one

We'll maf has been playing for a while so swapped it over for a working one same part numbers

We'll swapped the maf sensor over erased the fault code and all was good for 16 miles stopped went in asda come back out started car and it was back again (EML) same fault code (p0100)

    Anyone else had this problem it's a mk4 astra coupe 1.8 16v (Z18XE)

Car is due it's last service while I'm owning it so wouldn't mind sorting the problem and enjoying the next couple of month driving it ...it's been a problem free car up until recently

Also after 5-10 miles the traction control & Abs light comes on and stays on this only occurred after we replaced the steering rack for mot as they said the ram was leeking the steering felt much lighter and compfy with old rack on now it feels on the heavy side abit

Next car will be a mk5 astra cdti sri 150 estate

Does anyone think it might be worth trying to do the earth mod ?

Just realised the abs and traction control comes on at start up every now and then but if I switch car off and back on they go off

Any ideas/suggestions welcome and will be much appreciated cheers ...ash
