Red face Where is the EGR valve?? Astra 2.0 DTI 2002

Having looking on a few threads on removing the EGR valve I noticed my engine looks slightly different to the ones in the pictures. I've managed to take a few pics and I think I looking in the right place

Can anyone please confirm this as I've read on other forums something called an electronic EGR and its getting rather confusing

I'm wanting to wip the thing off and give it good clean before buying a new one.

Finally would anyone know best place to buy 1 from as my local Vaux want £320+vat!!

Thanks in advance guys n gals

I'm not familiar with the 2.0 version but I'm pretty certain that's not it mate.

I think you're find it's at the back of the engine somewhere they are normally mounted between the exhaust and inlet manifold, I'm sure someone will be along very soon to point out exactly where it is.

Well l phoned vauxhall up this morning and guy reckons the egr is on the right hand side at the top of the engine and I dont need to take the rocker cover off to see it.

He said my engine's a Y20DTH and the egr itself is part no.9196675???

Still not sure I've seen the egr, l'll have another look tonight when I get in.

As above, take the Ecotec cover off and you will see the EGR valve. You have the earlier 2.0 Dti engine which doesnt have an electric EGR valve.

    .. 2.0 Dti 16v ..
    .. With a few mods ..

    Exclamation

Right i took the plastic cover off and took a picture. However I went down to my local Vauxhall garage and they told me the plastic thing (arrowed) is not an egr valve.

Can anyone confirm if this is or is not an EGR valve please?
