    MK5 key in my MK4????

I've got a key for my van which i think is a mk5 key, its all smooth with an internal key design rather than the usual mk4 key with external key design.

Is this normal or have i had new locks at some point?

The van is a 55 plate envoy

Are you sure your van is a mk4? 55 plate was mk5's. I don't think any mk4's were made after 2004.

Thanks for the input guys, its the third mk4 i've had so i'm positive it's a mk4.

Its not a special edition neither, i've seen vans on a 56 plate before now.

seen plenty of mk4 06 reg vans.
the key needs the blade welding on iirc, i don't know if search will bring it up but it could also be worth having a look on astraownersclub.

the last of the astra g vans had a key profile the same as the astra h,astra g used either S or T key profile, the last of the g's used a Z profile key (the profile is the key style)

the astra g was made upto early 2005 and the last would be on an 05 plate, the vans were made upto 2006 and were made in poland, the way to tell is the radio as these vans had a radio with built in display not on a seperate display.
most of the 2005 astra g cars ware sport trim level with 1.7cdti engines

A radio with a built in display would make the MFD redundent. I think you mistaken on that one!
