I was at work today so asked my gf to pop down to the guy who's going to spray my bumper next week & who also repaired my arch last year. I got her to take a spare door handle down & get a quote on colour coding it.
He told her that it'd cost £120-£130, said it was expensive & advised her to talk me out of it (don't worry, when 3 figures get thrown my way for that, it works rapid!).
Said that it'd be so difficult spraying it properly, due to the lifting of the handle & the difficulty of spraying it all properly. He said to her that when they get done from factory, the handle is often/usually/always in pieces & sprayed, then put together.
He said if i decided to go ahead then it'd likely flake in 12-16 months.
Am looking for advice from some bodyshop folk & preferably not anyone just having a random wild guess. Or anyone who's had theirs sprayed pro.
I didn't really want to do it myself as i'm fussy in wanting a perfect job, which is why i got my bump strips done pro as i wasn't 100% on my effort, even though it wasn't a million miles off a match.
I wondered how awkward the handle would be due to it not being 1 flat surface if you get what i mean.
