A very brief one, but interesting all the same..
As part of an $15 billion investment pledge that was first announced by General Motors a year ago, the automaker is continuing its product launch plan for the future with the announcement of a new convertible on the way.
This new convertible will be based on Opel/Vauxhall’s compact vehicle architecture that of course currently underpins the Astra, Astra SportsTourer and the yet-to-be-released Astra GTC.
The new drop-top will arrive in 2013, the same year the Astra lineup will be revamped. The current Astra was first introduced in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
GM has not provided any further details about the car at this time, but of course promises more details closer to vehicle launch.
