    drive removal and fitting how 2

    is there a how 2 on driveshaft removal/refitting for a astra g sri 2.2

    If its the same as my 1.4 its easy mate.

    -Jack the car up on the side of which driveshaft you need to replace, as high as it will go ( make sense further on )
    -Wheel off
    -Hubnut and split pin off 30mm
    -2 hub carrier bolts on the top, 2 18mm nuts and bolts
    -Plastic malet, and hit the end of the driveshaft taking care not to damage threads
    -Rock the hub carrier over as far as it will go
    -Give the driveshaft a VERY sharp tug and it should come out, there shouldn't be any fluid loss if you have jacked it up high enough
    -IF it doesn't want to budge, get a blunt axe, between the driveshaft and gearbox, and give it a few sharp taps with a hammer and it should break the taper on it and come out

    cheers m8 noticed the inner gaitor had split today when putting lowering springs on the car today and the joint looked very dry ive also noticed over the last couple of weeks a humming noise coming from that side thought it was a wheel bearing but i take it its the shaft

    I'd put money on it being the inner CV being dry aswell mate.
