    Amp and sub power question?

Hi all, i`m after a bit of advice.

I have my sub and amp from my previous car, nothing majorly powerful but it does me.

I`ve been talking to my auto-electrician and he has his concerns about putting these in.

He`s saying about the power drain (amps) and that i could have problems such as power steering, because this is electronic rather than older hydraulic systems. i.e taking power from battery - car + amp, car ok - car and amp on limit?

    I have a 1999 1.6 SXi and the amp is a sony xplod 250w xm-502z.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with power etc and whether or not it will be ok to fit?

Thinking about putting in a rocker switch inline of the remote cable so i can trurn it off and only use the sub when im going to be listening at any volume.

One suggection made was to upgrade the alternator for one from maybe a vectra?

Thanks in advance, just dont want to experiance any electrical problems in the future.
