    Peugeot 106 1.1 - can do 120mph?

My mate has a 1.1 pug and said hes had 120mph out of it. I just find this strange, not saying he is wrong or he is lying as i know nothing about peugeots at all

Just out of interest really, can a 1.1 do that? I mean when i drove my mums micra 1.3 engine it felt nippy and is supposed to only do 97mph at most i think, not sure.

Can a 1.1 pug do 120? Surely the gearbox cant do that?

was he going downhill with the wind behind him,

plus if his speedo says 120mph he will probs only be doing 105-110 at a guess due to the speedo being out

Just because it smokes like a taxi doesnt mean it goes like one

    No.
My first two cars were 1.0 and 1.1 litres, and neither could really exceed 90 without risk of blowing up. 105 is the very most I've known anyone to get out of a 1.1 106.

He says the engine fills the engine bay unlike his mates 1.1s so i can only assume its got the 1.3 rallye engine in or something

I had a 1.0 Corsa, just managed to squeeze a ton out of that. No way can a car of similar size/weight get an extra 20mph with only 5bhp and 6lb/ft more

My first car was a 1.1 106, with a healthy engine it would just touch 100mph and that was pushing it.
