Question Slow lecky Windows- please advise

My electric windows seem to slide up and down slowly as though they are struggling.

The first thought i had would be that the car battery is on its way out, is this possible that might be the cause, or is there another reason, such as the motors going. . . .just seems weird that its happening to both windows.

My battery is powering my sub with no problems at the moment, so not sure if thats taking all its power and leaving none left for the windows ?

Somebody complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

on both windows at the same time ? highly unlikely.

seems to be more of a lack of power or something along those lines. . . .

sorry to come off topic slightly, but im going to need to power 2 x 12" subs and 2 amps off my battery, i heard you can buy something called a power cap??? which helps balance the power going to all the components or something??

can anyone shead some light on this?

But tbh mate that might be what you need

All power caps do is store a small amount of energy, which is then released when required, the rest of the time it is charging. In car audiosystems, large capacitors store energy for the amplifier to use on demand.

i just think i need a more powerful battery, and not a power cap.
Im only running a 600watt amp from my battery - so a bigger battery should suit it better ?

Im running 2 amps and 2 subs.

Do you think i could get away with a new bigger battery or is a power cap a good idea for me?

Does seem strange for both to be doing it if the rest of the car is ok but it is possible both motors could be tired or mechanism have run dry. I've had single windows go slow on many Vectras which required a regreasing of the runners and some silicon spray in the window channels. If you are unable to check the current through the circuits it might be worth just doing the greasing first to eliminate any resistance in the mechanisms. It doesn't hurt to do this anyway once in a while.

Yeah as above bit of wd40 or washin up liquid in the runners usually does the trick
