Post Attention those with bonnet lifters...

    Hi guys,

    Quick question..
Having a problem with the bonnet lifters I have bought from LMF. Got all the mountings in place no problem I just cant for the life of me get the struts in to the ball joints! I've tried greasing them up and tried a lot of pressure to try and crack them in and nothing.. is there something I'm doing wrong?
The struts do seems very stiff.. very little play in both but I assumed this was normal?
any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks a lot,
    Adam

Have you got the locking pins in place in the cups?

Will have to get pics in the morning now if that helps.
I've taken out the retaining clips, popped the socket over the ball and tried to refit the clips but they wont thread through the two little holes (goes through the first and then no further). The socket doesn't seem, to me, to be fitting over the ball all the way which could explain why the retaining clips wont fit back on but like I said before I can't seem to get them any further on

I had the same problem with a set. I sent mine back for a refund.

They must be faulty. I even tried pressing mine in with a bloody vice and it just wouldn't go in. The circular clip holds it in place once it's in but it isn't that which is the problem.

I bought my current set from Supernovas and they fit perfectly. They should just pop in.

Seriously mate, if you can't force them in then they are faulty like mine were. They were so bad you could see the score marks on the ball where it was catching. No way in hell they will go in in one piece. There is a metal ring half way down the socket which is the problem. I took one of them out and it went straight in, but was then too loose to do the job properly.

    Send them back mate.

Cheers matey, looking like that might have to be the option, like I said before I've tried as much force as I dare and it doesn't budge an inch.

thanks for the link anyway, shall get myself a set of those I think

That's how it should be. Stops them drying up.

Mine from Supernovas came greased and popped in no problem at all. Maybe LMF had a faulty batch or something.

Try squeezing it in with a vice and you will see score marks where it is getting stuck. Nothing you can do
