i had to cut the red and white wire on the mfd to get the date up whilst the cd player is on, does your steering wheel control unit use the head phone jack to connect to your head unit?

I have a similar problem actually, my date only appears when the player's off, and my steering wheel controls only work every now and then.

I've got a pioneer HU, and a sony-adaptor that was attached to the older HU. (Yes it has worked with my pioneer before!)

Hi all, I have the same situation. If the HU is playing i cant see the date.

Well after i pushed some buttons on the HU the date suddenly started to appear. I did this with the AF-TA button. When i select both AF and TA Off i can see the date on the MID, maybe it will be the same for you. It doesnt matter wat i listen to but the date remains so meybe its the same with the pioneer?

It's probably wired wrong then unless you cut a wire
