    Insuring factory fitted extra's

My parents have bought and will be collecting their 11 plate Meriva soon, and they need to insure it.
It has come from the factory with the 18" alloy wheels already put on, they didn't ask nor pay for them.
How would you go about declaring them cause std they should have 16"?

That's not really sound advice. The insurance company need to know about anything which differs from the standard factory specification, otherwise they are within their rights to refuse any claim and void your policy.

you could have every single possible extra and you're saying you dont have to declare it???

Are you sure the wheels arent dealer fitted and not factory fitted?

cant imagine the factory would make such a mistake

Thats rubbish! The wheels will show as being put on in the factory yes, however an insurance assesor will know that they aren't standard fit for that particular model.

Declare the mod. The insurance comoany will ask for any optional extras including any factory fit extras!

Ok.. Is prodrive kit of an Astra SRI-T a modification or not? AFAIK they all come with the kit. What about NA SRI with prodrive kit? (like mine). Does my VIN show up that the kit is fitted?
