    Sport button?

Right so i'm looking at getting an Astra sport hatch design 1.9 150

But what does the sport button actually do on these? parkers say its 150bhp and 0-60 is 8.3 with top speed of 130

Is that with the sport button on or off?

If thats with it off what are the stats when its on?

I don't know what those stats are based on in all honesty, with or without the sport button!

All I know is they sport button makes a huge difference to the way a 1.9 drives.

Drove a friends one almost 18 months ago now, had been driving without sport mode on, pulled up at some lights and he reached across to put it on. Pulled away from the lights, and omg, the difference in speed and acceleration was amazing!

Have heard it stiffens up the suspension too, and also does something to the steering, but not 100% sure, all I know is it makes the car respond quicker, and feel alot quicker.

    Parkers is wrong...
Don't know about 0-60 time, but I do know that they're limited to 140mph...

Sport button can do 3 things:
    1. Sharpens throttle response (that's all! It doesn't make any more power - it always makes 150bhp)
2: Stiffens suspension (but only if the car has IDS+ fitted)
3: Loads the steering (to create the impression of more feel)

Loads of faults/bad points with the engines - EGR, DMF, etc (although the cars seem fairly tough) Most are easy to find in this diesel section.

They are limited to 130 but i believe u can get that mapped out and they will do 144 not that top speed matters unless ur on a track. EGR valve, gearbox and swirl flaps (new manifold) seem to be major problems. Had mine a year and had egr done just before Xmas when the car died on me. Other than that it's been a great car. Get a dtuk box and the car will become a 200bhp beast.

Tbh I get confused with the different boxes. I have a crd2, I believe there is an Eco3 green box, a red box and a crd-t which is the newest but im sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. The crd2 and eco3 seem to be the most popular.
