    problems with my astra gsi

hey guys got my first astra the week end its a gsi turbo 2003 and when i bought it the ecu light was on .the bloke said it was the air flow meter (afm) so i took his word. so the next day i pluged it in to my mate snap on machine and it said o2 sensour and afm changed the 02 sensor faut went away but the afm 0ne was still there. So i pluged my new afm in and when i did the engine runned lumpy and kept cutting out on idle. but when he plugged the machine into the car again the afm went off but the map sensor came up weried so i put the old afm back onto the car and the car was running tidy again but when pluged the machine into the car map sensor wernt there but the afm was again but what could be making this happen
