    Rocker Cover Torque Settings and Order (z20lel)

    Afternoon All.

    replacing my rocker cover gasket. does anybody know the correct order, and torque settings i should be using when tightening the rocker cover back up. its for a Z20LEL, however i've got an exposed pic of the LEH for anybody to scribble over if need be..

    personally i do them by hand and a little more than 8 thats for sure

    do them in a clockwise spiral fashion starting from the inside out - gradually though, so may take 2 or 3 attempts

    start at the central one on the bottom then the one above, the one to the right out spiral outwards..

    hard to explain and i aint bothering with paint etc

    also found out that tightening it up till it cracks, then turning it back half a turn works

    i think theres a video on you tube of how to do it. I am at work at the mo and cant get on you tube unfortnatly to find it for you

    how hard can it be!

    i did mine yesterday without lookin at a daft video but each to their own


    nip them up first time, then go round again up to the desired torque and a further time if like me u want them a little tighter

    I do understand your description. however if theres a video detailing and explaining the correct process, not disputing you explanation, which I obviously have no real understanding of, hence posting a thread asking for said process. would i not owe that to myself to gather all information i can thats relevant to do it right first time? rather than miss something out, and end up forking out for a repair? no harm in information gathering fella.

    torque settings ? i just did mine up by hand lol, il have a go tonight and see if i was far out with my guess
