    cambelt wear

    right i bought the edition 100 a few wks ago, but even though 60k fsh theres no mention of a cambelt change, now had cover off earlier and looks ok, but still weary wa u guys think, only a few wks away from a change, but wondered if looks ok for a few wks, i know cambedlt can go any time, but how does wear look

    id get it replaced as soon as really but should be fine for a few weeks

    i would change it asap for peace of mind.. cos if you dont change it , you know its bound to snap now that you have asked about it..Change it Andy..

    yeah one of our guys on ere is doing it for me, tc switch at same time, but its in a few wks, mainly due to cant drive atm anyway, due to surgery, but work next wk so gora use it, en wk after i want it done, only do 100miles a wk atmo anyway, just ave me fingers,toes n everything crossed

    Cambelts very rarely fail.

    Its 99% of the time down to something else like a tensioner or water pump problem.

    Same with me, advisory was put on the receipt @ 50k, its now got 85k, booked it in asap JUST IN CASE ! Cant find any receipts and the cost of it to replace everything if it snapped - well, much more than replacing the belts. Getting cambelt, water pump and aux belt done at the same time.

    They do if they havent been replaced for 1000's and 1000's of miles.

    same ere i always replace all of them at same time, if any fail its usually gd nite, which appen b4, 16 bent valves still gives me knightmares

    Just picked it up, £209 cambelt, water pump, aux belt and antifreeze. Top price !

    I was under the bonnet of mine the other day and thought id take the cover of and have a quick look, lucky i did as the belt was gettin chewed up and all over the tensioner and pulley's was a dusty substance which was coming from the belt. Needless to say i it changed asap!! Always worth doing tho if u have no record of it, just for peace of mind if anything!!
