z20let running 1.9 cdti airbox setup with out remap. problems

iv recently fitted my cdti airbox setup with the 1 big 1 piece courtenay sport hose. i used an old boost pipe to help fit the 70mm let afm into the 80mm hole. it wont idle at all and brings 2 lights up on the dash, when i plug my scanner in it brings up air flow meter fault. iv tried several times to get it work but it brings up the same fault every time. i swapped it all over to my original airbox set up and now its fine.

can this set up not be used until iv fitted my vxr 80mm afm and had it mapped?

    thanks

Doesn't need to be mapped 1st it's only a airbox. Fit it again with the battery disconnected to clear the code and for the Afm to start learning the new values but you shouldn't really have to do this. Is all pipework past the air tight?

yeah all tightened up well. il give it another go and see how it goes. i thought the same its only an airbox i just thought with the courts hose being 80mm diameter it might be reading the airflow wrong ?

check the connecting wires on the afm, and the plug, just incase you damaged it by accident mate.
