    MK5 dash/Headunit

Out of curiousity, if i want to spray/wrap the console and the head unit, Does the front of the standard navi cd70 headunit come off so it can be painted or wrapped? or does it have to be done on the unit itself?

It comes off, in a fashion, but i believe it comes off more like a removable front, like aftermarket headunits (with all the buttons still in it). I think someone had one in the classifieds a couple of days ago.
Remember though, if you spray/wrap it, you'll be covering the writing and icons above the volume switch. Not a massive problem on the radio, but if you wanted to do the heater controls too, then you can't mask off all the icons, so the illumination won't show through afterwards.

Yeah, the 0/1 doesn't light up (i don't think), but i too could deal with not seeing that. But what about colour coding your heater control panel?

the front panel is removable, as is the plastic fascia if you strip it down, i know this for a fact as this is my old cd30 and i swapped all the plastics from a elite model my dad sold
