    Astra H Air-Con Leak??

Hi, My car is a 2006 Astra H 1.8SRi VVT
As the title suggests, i believe i have a leak on my Air-Con System.

After investigating i found that when pressing the AC button, i could not hear a tap nor could i see a dip in engine revs which would signal that the air-con pump has engaged.

Then whilst looking around the engine bay, i came across a green substance around one of the air-con pipes [ picture below ]

This substance was found just under the air filter box on the drivers side of the vehicle, and after reading various threads, i believe this is a visible aid to help find leaks?????
Hopefully all i will have to do in replace a seal at the joint and re-gas, but can someone just confirm this is all i have to do, or should i replace/investigate more?????

    regards.

    Mike.

If u take it to get it re-gassed they will tell u if it has a leak,i believe that by law they are not allowed to re-gas the system if there is a leak.

I think it's pretty obviuos that there is a leak present , as the damp around the joint on the joint on the air con pipe ,

I would get your self a new seal and get the air con drained , then fit the new seal and get the system re-gased

There may still be a pressure and it will blow on your face if you don't drain the system properly.
Trust me, i have experienced this when i was replacing a condenser on an E-class Merc
