    Young drivers with vxr insurance?

Hi I've been getting a couple of quotes on a vxr.

I'm 20 been driving 3 years with 1 years ncb and 2 as a nemed driver

I know I'm young and the insurance isn't going to be cheap but I've got my heart set on one, and can't really justify buying anything else

So if some of you could tell me what your paying? As my best quote is near £3000

    Thanks Nathan

To be honest I just cant see how a 20 y/o is going to get a reasonable quote on a VXR! I know postcode and age and etc etc is all going to affect it but lets be serious here. My mate has a Corsa VXR hes 24 with 3 years no claims and pays over a grand, and Im 22 and my SRi 2.0 G costs that much!
1.8 SE2 Coupe! Let the mods begin...

Yer I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. But didn't think it was going to be that bad. I'll try sky and admiral and I'll see what it comes up with if I change my age to 21.

I did try a quote in my parents name and me as a named driver but that put it up to £4000+.

I insured a VXR at 20 for £1100 fully comp through Tesco.

This year's quote at 23 with 6 years NCB and 3 points is £800 fully comp.

It is do-able but make sure you ring around loads of different places.

Or you could see sense and buy a smaller engined car and have loads of money to spend on life! Just a thought...

At that age, I was more looking for something a bit nippy with low insurance. Ended up with a 1.3 Nova SR. Loved it

That would be perfect if I could get it for that.

I see where your coming from but I've had a 1.8 Sri mk4. It was nippy and the insurance was cheap but know I can afford a vxr. I just want one so bad. I might just have to settle for a 1.9 cdti or something similar
