    Anyone go shooting?

Went out last weekend for the first time with a shooting group, all be it i was only beating. Ended up with 18 pheasants and about 20 pigeons. Great experience, end of season now though. Just wondered if anyone else goes out shooting/beating?

Yup, used to work at a local pheasant shoot, always got masses of pheasants to bring home to eat. Got sick of the plucking & gutting after a while though lol!

yep lol, no chance i'd be plucking and gutting. Was really fun though, was not what i expected at all. At the end they ended up letting me have a shot with two of the shotguns, not sure what the first one was but the second one was a beretta 20 bore(i think). Anyway 2nd one was more powerful, has such a kick back.

Gonna try and keep going, not a paid thing like, just as a hobby

I've only got an air rifle so only squirrels, magpie and pidegons for me.
But i used to go shooting as my great uncle is a farmer and has loads of land and woods. Used to do the beating with the older men while the others surrounded the wood. Was great fun, any excuse to hit stuff as a kid.
But now a days all i do is cart the corn and fill the pheasant feeders. Might get a shottie as somepoint if the gf allows lol.
When i picked my air rifle up from being repaired there was a guy buying a browning rifle which looked very nice.

Yup, shoot Red and Roe deer, Rabbits & Ducks. Oh and 1 Goose (Shot at them plenty of times ) We sometimes shoot Woodcock too. We have two dogs (a spaniel & a lab) that do the beating Also take out the occasional hooded crow.

We use a .270 for the bigger deer, a .222 for the small ones, a .22 for rabbits and a 12 bore for the ducks/geese. Oh and a 20 bore or higher for the woodcock as they're tiny.

If you think the 20 bore had a kick on it try a 12 bore! Also had a shot of a single barrel 12 bore that was like having a cannon in at your shoulder
