    Is it possible?

Hi guys ... Is it possible for a complete novice to fit lowering springs? Yeah sure i could go get them fitted but thought if i do them myself it will be abit of a learning curve for me? I've got the mk5 Sri sportshatch and eibach sportlines 50/30

    Thanks

Hmm, I suppose there is only one way of learning, apart from reading how tos (Which, dont get me wrong, are helpful), is to just get on with it, ALTHOUGH......

It all depends on what tools you have access to.

Spring compressor and basic toolbox should do you fine mate.

Not sure on the Astra but I assume the rear springs and shocks are seperate and the front are MacPherson struts.

If so the back is a doddle mate, you will realise how easy once you've done it. When I changed my Calibra fronts I found it easier to drop the whole leg out and do it on my workbench.

Bearing in mind the most technical jobs I had done before were brake pads, a radiator and a throttle body I wasn't exactly a DIY mechanic when I did it!!!

Im also planning to do them myself on my mk4. A bit of research says back is easy, but front dont kno how hard. If anyone could give some step by step details on the front, that would be great. thanks, sorry for highjacking thread, but im sure you're after the same info

Its just as easy to do yourself mate and will save you a few notes to spend on something else Just a pain if you dont have a garage though, with the weather and all...
