hey kirsty, welcome to aoc sure you can get the advice your after, looks a tidy motor, should be good enuff to get it rebuilt whatever the problem is. if not a new engine would prob be the best option if its too expensive.

Oi! *poke* that's enough from you - I'm the only one here who agrees with you that Land Rovers are the most awesome car in the world

Anyhow, Hello new Kirsty, welcome along to AOC, hope you enjoy the club, and look forward to seeing how you progress with the Astra

lol cheers for the welcome guys i have put up a need help thread got a feeling it would just be easier and cheaper fitting a new engine and if that is the case id be looking to put a better engine in as this seems to be a recurring problem with these ones

so next question is what fits lol i know if i was to drop a cav one in it we would need to change the engine mounts but what fits right in

    Eyup.... Welcome t'site.....

Tbh, its gonna be easier and cheaper to replace the engine, fleabay usually has some bargains. I managed to get a 1.6 16v a little while back for £200 delivered to my door...

If its got pistons or tits, its gonna be expensive!!
