    A decent service required??

The GSi is returning 18.8mpg average at the moment and I was wondering why. It is overdue a service only done 8k in it since the last VX one but it will be booked in soon.
Do you think the service would bring the mpg up or is there something else I should look into??

Reason I'm asking is that I could go back to VX (full VX service history atm) or as I have all the service parts I was going to get an independant to do it. Just wondering if VX would put it on their machine and check it all over ie the map & fueling.

    Thanks

My Sri-T is returning near enough the same atm, regardless of how I drive.

Im fitting a new turbo (As the original does smoke) aswell as a full service!

Im hoping all that lot does bring it back up

What was done in the last service? A full service or just a 'oil' service?

My gsi is at about 24mpg, about 21ish when giving it stick for a while. What bhp & map you running? The cold weather doesnt help. I work at a garage in essex mate, let me know if you want me to service it.

Plugs, boost leak, vacuum leak, map sensor, Afm, lambda sensors, blocked cat engine temp sensor etc etc all could be affecting your mpg if any of the above are faulty.. I'm having the same trouble with similar mpg, testing some of these things can be an absolute nightmare , and very time consuming.. Good luck! And if u find the fault let me know! Lol
