    super 4 spark plugs

Took myself to hellfords (u know the people who put bikes together) and asked what the best spark plugs are for my astra mk4, they gave me bosch super 4's. After fitting them i drove around for a day or two and came to the conclusion that they didnt suit my car and put the old GM plugs back in, felt like normal again. I have been told since that you need to gap them???? is this true??? if so how'd you go about that and what would the measurement be???? thanks for your time.. luke

Don't think you can gap Super 4's?

I only found better spark plugs were better once my engine was a little more tuned up.

Just check the ends see that they all look the same. I always used super 4's in my 1.6 16v and I wouldn't use any others. GSI I'm yet to try them but il probably get iridiums

Changed to the super 4's from normal ngk spark plugs. Car seems a little quicker to respond than before.

Probably makes no difference unless your old plugs are knackered.

I use the iridiums in my bike, Only because they (Aparantly) last a little longer. Also because it is a right pain in the arse to get to them.

Its fuel tank off, air filter out, air box removed then coil packs out. Then it's the orkward job of getting to them to get then out of the block as the frame sits directly over the holes and you are working blind. Takes nearly an hour and half just to do them!

I found there was a delay when turning the car over with the bosch super 4's. with the standard GM plugs my car turns over strait away no problem. but iv had the plugs in a year now. wanted a change. Thought i'd get decent advice from the all knowing hellford staff. i could see a gapping problem causing this delayed ignition and loss of responsiveness. Just gonna have to get my hands dirty again and have a look.

You need to gap every plug you fit.

Multi eletrode plugs need a wire plug guage like this:

The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...
