    My new SRi

    Howdy folks,

Picked up my Astra on Saturday and loving it already.

    Yup, 19inch alloys. Yummy!

Love the comfort and looks, lovely place to sit.

Am curious (and I'm sure you're fed up of this, so apologies) what sort of economy people are getting.

Took it on the first M25 run this morning, 40 miles round to Heathrow and managed to get 37mpg.

Is it 1,6T or 1,4T? Mine took some time before the mpg were good. It needs some time to run in. But that is very good, my 1,4T uses 0,83L/KM driving in hevy traffic every day.

Congratulations with a very nice car
    Excuse me, I'm Norwegian..

    Thanks chaps.

    It's a 1.6T.

    I'm coming from a Golf 2.0 TDi.

Would have taken the TDi engine in this if there had been any available with the spec and in my budget.

I guess I'll just have to settle for the faster car!

    Not at all.

I've never been sure about it before, especially on bigger, chunkier cars, but on this I reckon it helps maintain the more elongated profile, so I'm happy with it.

Nice car mate, same as mine except for the fact I got the derv instead of the petrol. What do you think of the AFL option.

Really like em. Have wanted xenons for a while.

SWMBO reckons they make the car look evil. Which I like!
