    Checked My Vxr Cambelt ..

    hi guys im currently on 28,300 on my milage on my astra vxr ..

    my car is a 2006/06 model ..

    now i know cambelts can snap at anytime but ive checked mine today..

    i just wanna know if it looks ok??

    and also is that normal with the belt on that far ??

    there was no alot of play in the cambelt ..

    Only needs changing every 80k on a VXR doesn't it? if it were me though i'd be doing it every 40k or 4 years for peace of mind as £200 for a cambelt/waterpump/coolant change is cheaper than a rebuild.

    Any better side on pictures as the teeth dont look right to me.

    Looks like belt is a bit loose.

    i havent mate, there the only pics i got, the belt didnt seem loose, there was abit of movment when i lifted it up but nothing major.. teeth looked pritty thick too..

    Generally cam belts dont snap, the rollers seize and its bye bye LEH and hello Mr AA man.

    movement between the cam pulleys?

    Looks ok,

    But just check to see what the tentioner marks are showing,

    if the pointer is inbetween then all is well, one side or another then it needs to be looked at ,maybe,

    If your that concerned renew the lot
