    ASTRA GSI Used Pricing

WOAH, what is it with the prices of the Astra GSI.

I'm currently on the hunt for one and reading through the glasses guide their pricing does not reflect the actual market one bit...

    Franchised Dealer = £3,325
    Independent Dealer = £2,915
    Private Good = £2,510
    Private Poor = £1,755
    Part Exchange = £2,050

Thats for a 53 reg with 60k on it.

One i'm currently looking at. Should I be asking for it at 4k or what ? Don't know where I stand. I know a car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay, but surely people aren't paying over the odds by double for these cars ?

It's like the Golf. People know what badge they own & will ask the earth for it on the chance someone will pay it.

I was looking at Golfs a while ago, and you could get a spec of car, and search some more to find the exact spec, with very similar, almost exact miles, age etc etc

& there'd be a whopping difference between the 2 asking prices. 1 pricing it accurately according to the guides, and the other pricing it silly because it's a golf.

when looking into it, if they ask silly figures, i just don't bother

Golfs a VW and subsequently german, german cars will ALWAYS hold their value and have good reason to, they're solid.

I do agree Reynolds, not many cars I see get well over book price but these do, and it just so happens I have an itch for a turbo, lol.

Beautiful car is a little far fetched considering the image it has got, but they do look nice.

Well in my eyes the glasses guide must be wrong how and where do they get the prices from?they dont reflect the current market. If i was to sell mine i would want £4.5k i do agree that some people do ask for stupid prices. I went to have a look at a vxr part exing my gsi and tgey offered me 1.5k.

Your link the mileage is 77.5k. I would be knocking that down a few quid mate.

I paid 5G for mine last February, 49k with history, year mot/tax. Probably now mine would go for around £4500 i would like to think. Unfortunately it's only worth what someone will pay. Book price is laughable as you will always get more for a gsi.

Be cheeky and offer 4k for that, when he tells you where to get off.....start haggling
GSi....boosting a' ower yer honda CTR, Vtec this!

They offered you there book price... You can pick up 08 vxrs with 40ish k now for about 7k... but people with 02 gsis on 80k still asking for 5.5... i imagine by the end of this year there will be quite a few bringing the prices down

It's all about supply and demand. There aren't that many GSI's around, and they are sought after. Therefore they'll often fetch more than book value.

It fetches decent money cos it a decent spec'd nice looking turbo hatch simple as that really.
You really wont ever see a gsi for sale at vauxhall dealer for those silly book prices so why should private sellers have to sell at that price..
