    Reporting eBay seller to eBay??

I've bought an item, which i hold my hand up, i skim read the listing, didn't expect what i received & then found out it was my fault.

Seller says they'll refund me, but they'll deduct their eBay fees from my refund.

the item required opening, but upon trying to put it back together, it seems to be broken.

So now, i want to return the item as faulty rather than unwanted & have a full refund.

Through asking on eBay, i've found that this seller appears to be a business seller faking as a private seller, which is against eBay rules.

I look into reporting them, but can't find a link to do so. I can only find advice saying people can be reported, but that's about as far as it gets.

Anyone reported in the past & can point me in the right direction? eBay doesn't appear to be the most helpful.

Also, while i'm at it, anyone have past experience of my case i've just mentioned? Any idea on whether i'd win a dispute or not?

I've tried asking on eBay, but it seems i'm not allowed to reply to threads or make new ones as it keeps saying error.

    I did.

Under the reporting a sale link, there's a drop down menu of reasons for reporting. None of them apply to this though. I want to report the seller as selling privately, yet they're clearly a business (numerous thousands of the same item sold doesn't = private to me).

There's 7 options & none of them apply at all.

Go tour 'Won' bit where it lists the items you have Won.

Where it says leave 'feedback' under it is 'More Actions'

You can 'Return Item' in there.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

I've contacted the seller to return the item

They tell me that they'll deduct their eBay fees (such as listing fee, final value fee, etc) from the refund. I don't agree with this.

I could go SNAD dispute as it's broken, but i was looking to report them also.

they cant do this mate.... open up a dispute first, you can do it after so many days... click the box that says not as described or i prefer full refund, send it back to them recorded delivery so u have proof, ebay will then refund you what uve paid, simples!

Turns out there's sod all i can do about it.
eBay favouring the buyer is a guide not a rule, as they wont favour me in this case.
The seller doesn't HAVE to refund me as they're a private seller, not a business.

All in all i've got to put it down to experience & move on.

Still shit that you can't report them. Or if you can, then eBay hide their links well. Sort of like how places often hide their unsubscribe information.
