anyone on here running ubuntu on there comps?

Right im now running ubuntu and just wondered.

I get my drivers for nvidia.
    restart
then on boot it takes me to command prompt / command line type sytuff
asks me my username and password and then tells me it cant do something with moniter setting and i need to do something with ssh -Y

what the hell do i do and then how do i exit i was stuck in there an hour yesterday and then reinstalled ubuntu and ignored my nvidia drivers.

Im new to the whole linux thing so thought id give it a go. its nice to use.

AJB2K3 is right. you need to modify the XOrg config. The command you need to run is "nvidia-xconfig" (without quotes). You may have to login as root though.

As to reboot, you will need to login as root and type reboot or type "shutdown -r now" and to power down its "shutdown -h now"
