Please help before i go nuts with a drill!!!!

I'm living on the Gold Coast in Queensland and although we havent had the floods this far we have had a hell of a lot of driving rain. I had to leave my car outside the garage for a few nights and it got hammered.

Now when i open the drivers side door i can hear a sloshing inside!! Nothing has got into the car but it isn't coming out either. I think i am going to have to drill a couple of drainage holes in the bottom of the door to let the water out. Has anybody done this before? Anything to look out for? I'll take the door cards off first to have a look before doing anything stupid.

Just hope the door doesn't have a double skin!!!!!

    Help me please...

From memory there are holes or rather small slots or there should be along the bottom edge of the door thay are almost on the very edge these must be blocked on your car.

Give them a poke and hopefull the water will drain out.

the rustproofing/waxoyl stuff that on the inside off the door melts in heat and blocks up the small drainage holes in the bottom off the door.
just have a wiggle about with a small pick or screw driver to clear them. if the problem persists whip the door cards off and give them a decent clean out from inside
