    Z17DTH Engine Swap

    Hi, Newbie to this forum and would like to know peoples thoughts on this:

    I purchased an ex Thames Valley Police 2006 Astra 1.7cdti Z17DTH with a dead engine, turbo had gone and it was purchased with the head off it looking down at a block with a valve imbedded/melted into the piston, nice mess.....

    Managed to find a 49k genuine mileage Z17DTH engine and had a good friend mechanic do a transplant. At the moment of turning the key she fired up straight away as if it hadn't been put in a donor car at all, marvellous.....

    The only issue was the oil that had been shoved down through the cat and into the exhaust from the old turbo had to come out in some pretty impressive white plumes of smoke for about 10 miles of 60mph driving.

    So the issue is injectors, I've no issues with acceleration, missing, engine starting e.t.c After engine transplant had a few codes due to the wiring harness being now joined to different sensors and they all cleared with a basic code reader. So I'm reading this forum stating that any injector that is to be replaced needs to be reprogrammed and of course I have 4 that were mated to it's original ecu now on a donor car and I'm thinking am I lucky or about to find I'm going to get 25mpg, only covered 80 miles of town driving so far with replacement engine, too early to tell.......

    I think they are just programmed to their position in the engine not to the ECU itself but im welcome to correction

    i removed all my 4 and placed them back in what i think was a different order and had no problems but then thats just a diffrent order and the same ecu

    if its running i cant see a problem
