thats a misconception, it will chip off the same as paint will

also if the wheels are painted and baked in a spray booth the paint will last aslong as powder coating

i do both and have done for a long time, and its a massive misconception about powdercoating being massively better, powder coat is actually pretty much 2k paint

also where did i say paint was stronger??

powdercoating is nothing like 2k based paint

Both chip, personally I prefer powder coating but I suspect painted is easier to repair the odd scuff or chip.

Id say powder coating may have a better/tougher finish, only downside from personal experience is if you scuff them you cant really get an exact colour touch up kit for a powdercoated colour
