you will never get the same bass without a sub but some component speakers give a good sound with nice bass, just not a deep as with a sub.
    Hope this helps sooty

If you really dont want the weight of subs in the back, you could always experiment and get shallow 6" subs in the doors or look into under-seat subs. There is also the option for bass shakers that slide inside the seats.

There are options out there but nothing will give you the same kind of result as a sub setup.

i ideally wanted some descent speakers in the rear and connect amps to them.
unless i sell my subs and buy a single 12 in sub with built in amp ?
i think i saw some in halfrauds called fli ?

just get a single low profile sub.
something like this vibe liteair would do you well: http://www.motorspeed.com/store_main...roduct_id=4724
or if you wanted to save even more weight and space there's an 8" version: http://www.motorspeed.com/store_main...roduct_id=4724

Are you fussed about the amount of bass or the quality of bass in your car?

a bit of both really lol.
i want base when listening to music but not thumping base,

i dont know if i have the settings right on the amps because when i
have music loud i could count the number of songs on one hand that sound brill,
the others sound thumpy/farty its the best way i can describe it

6x9's will give ok base, good if amp'd up. They are fine to use, people only say don't use them if you already have sub's fitted. But if your not having sub's they will be an ok substitute.
I know some people have managed to mount them in the rear doors, don't know if thats possible on the coupe.

    and amp them up .
