Angry Won't start with warning spanner

I would appreciate any help with this problem. My Astra Diesel year 2000 has been stationary over Christmas and now won't start. Ths battery was flat but after charging still won't start and the spanner warning light is continuously flashing.

Any help would be great. Regards John

    Sounds like an immobiliser fault.

Are you using the same key as you normally do?

Turn the ignition on till the ignition lights light up and lock and then unlock the car and see if that makes a difference.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

As stated this is a electronics fault light, and is related to the immobilizer system, and it may just need the key reprogramming.( key in, ignition on to position before it lights up press and hold, the lock or the unlock symbol on the fob, after few seconds it should lock/unlock the door remotes.then try a start up. Also try your spare key fob if you have one.
Also try changing the remote battery. You may find even if starts up and runs ok.the spanner may still be on,this is a well known fault, and can be difficult to remove, but if all is well ,ignore it till it drives you mad looking at it.
