    Nexen or Nankang

Need some advise on new tyres, I have narrowed my choices down to NEXEN CP641 or NANKANG XR611. Has anyone got/had these? Interested to hear your opinions.

I have used both of the above in the past.
Nexen - Not impressed quite a hard compound, good for not wearing but no so good on the grippy confidence front..

Nankang would be my choice of the two .. Much gripier than the nexen & more confidence inspiring ....

Of course it all depends on your driving style & what you want to achieve,.. They are a budget tyre after all ...

It's mostly steady driving these days, to and from work but like to have confidence going round the tight country bends (there are lots on my runs), current tyres don't inspire much confidence in them.

Thanks for your opinion on previous cars I've gone for Firestones or Bridgestones but am having to do a good few repairs to the car so needing to cut back on a few costs all round.

Southwest - I have a 1.8 16v astra sxi and they're going all the way round and rough budget on wheels of £50-55 per corner.

i got the nankangs on my oe wheels, in the wet i say they are deadly, i got the nexens on my low profiles and i would say there much better in the wet than the nankangs. I used to have falkens on my other wheels and these were far superior, but they showed wear after 5000miles, but were 65 a corner from my local garage, for the price difference i would go for the safety side.

go for the falken ze912. theyre roughly in your price range, and are very good in the wet. if you rotate the tyres properly you can easily get 20k out of a set

I got the Avons on my coupe and i hate them, slip slidin away lol i am going to opt for the old Hancook Ventus Prime as they were on my last Astra with no complaint. Although £76 per corner is steep but they are quite grippy or the most grip i've ever felt without going OTT on the budget.

Lots of people on here like Khumo tyres too. You can get a right good look at price differences on Camskill.co.uk

I'd rather run on the rims than any of those.
Seriously, the rubber is the only thing keeping you on the road, invest properly.
Hankook V12 evo get my vote very underated tyre preferred them over goodyear F1's and they are on par with the Avon zz3's i have now that came with my 17's.
