How do you charge something that needs a fag lighter? (aside from the obvious!)

I don't smoke & therefore have no need for the lighter in my car, so i bought a torch which goes in there instead:

    http://www.presentsformen.co.uk/prod...ar-Torch-9678/

Not the most powerful thing, but more useful to me than a ciggy lighter.

Got the gf one also. Now, they were lighting up quite bright upon first use. Hers still lights up bright, but mine is much dimmer than it was, even though it's always in ciggy socket.

Difference between our cars is her Corsa has this torch clicking into place, whereas my ciggy socket on the Astra is a bag of cack.

How can you charge this without needing the ignition on (i.e. how do you charge it OUT of the car)? I'm worse with electronics than i am with mechanics, so this is why i'm asking.

Yes, i've googled 12v chargers. Couldn't see anything.

Can't be that hard to make one from a 230V to 12V inverter. Buy a cig lighter or get one from the scrappies. Cut the wires on the inverter, solder the wires from the cig lighter to the inverter (Making sure that they are the correct way around). Insulate them and bobs your uncle and fannys your aunt

Or you can just stick one on th the 12v leads on a spare pc power supply.
A few years back someone actually added a lighter to his pc.
