    Exclamation Frozen water, now won't start

    hello

    i know i have been stupid but its my first car no one i know drives but here is the story,

    i brought a astra 1.4 16v mk4 did not know it had a leek in the radiator topped up my water with just water here is the stupid bit did not put any anti freeze in it the froze i got my car towed home left it to defrost has done will not start checked that i had not ripped or snapped my cam belt that is fine i replaced the battery and spark plugs as they had had it tried to start once again now can hear banging coming from the engine but still not starting any ideas i think it may be my pistons that have gone but any ideas would be great thank you

    Is it deffo thawed out? Have u flushed out the old water & replaced with a propper 50/50 mix?

    If the cambelt has slipped it could have knocked the timing out?

    Waterpump could be f00ked??

    Could be a number of things...
    1.4 MK5 BEAST!

    Possible the ice has pushed the coreplugs out.
