    1/2 Price MOT @ Nationwide

Just found out that Nationwide have 1/2 price MOT's ive just booked mine for 5th of Feb cost me the sum of £27.42 which I think is ace. Bit worried though as I reckon the Astra is going to fall flat on its face and cost me a bomb

It probably will when you get 1/2 price mot's, in my experience of course.

Always seem to find something that other mot stations don't......wonder why

Not always mate and i might just have a bad opinion....

I have a list of "stay away froms" that include

    Farmers
    Kwik-Fit
    National
    Budget

Was at a garage a few years ago with a half price MOT, cost me over £300 which seemed excessive. Just had the Astra Mot'd at £55. Sailed through with no advisories

Coincidence, probably. Makes you think though

Not at all. We get it all the time. We charge £54.85 which is the max you can charge for a MoT, but if it fails it is because there is deffo something wrong.

The amount of car we get in because on these half price MoT which say there car has failed but in our eyes have nothing wrong is just stupid.

In my eyes never go to a main dealer or fast fir center cos on a OLDER CAR IT WILL FAIL WITH THEM

I may be wrong but if there's a prob with your car where ever you take it will fail if there is no problem it passes surely they cant just make issues up :s and as I said before iv been here a few times before with no probs im not saying any of you are wrong as you all probz have far more experience than me but I can't see how things can be made up or just ignored :S

Well my local test centre does 25 quid MOT's

They've failed me once ( this year ) pointed out what they were, I fixed them ( cost me a tenner ) and retested for free, and the 2 previous years it passed with no advisories.

    Example for you.

My sisters car, failed on seatbelts, brake discs being goosed and something else. We brought car back and our dad stripped the seatbelts out the car. Nothing wrong with them. Also checked the brake discs....again fine. So after a bit of welding to the body that was needed we took it to another mot station, passed first time.

    Hmmmmm
