Maybe handing back the astra coupe

April this year I got my 2002 coupe it was £3500. Got £400 for my old clio off the price handed over £400 cash and had £2700 on finace.

Anyway rangup the finance company to pay for january as I cancelled the direct debit and told them I would be looking for a more ecconomical car.

They said we can look into it in the new year and may even be a straight swap so looking for a new car.

    urgh! mk2 clio.
i had a 1.2 8v and hated it, not that it was a particularly bad car, i just didnt like the way it drove or felt. the extra fuel on my 1.8 is well worth it IMO

I do like my coupe, but passing a few of the garages I looked at in march and they have a few Mazda RX8's and other sportier numbers and few sporty corsa's and one had a clio williams 3 which I have always wanted but at £6K it was a bit out of my price range!

Still I have till january to make my mind up about what I'm gonna do.. Maybe get a astra hatchback or something

YEP forget the RX8! A mate got one and was only getting 17mpg.. also sounds like you are day dreaming if you are thinking of getting rid of the coupe for something more economical but are looking at RX8's and Williams Clio...

stay away from the MGF VVC they suffer head gasket problems heating issues and are not a fun car as its middle engine you cant get the back out there not fast and after a few weeks of driving it you realise how boring they are.

Mx5 IS a nice car but you want the turbo version for power and performance otherwise its just an old dustbin,

I've found the coupe to be a lot to run too but i'll sell my testes before i get rid of it I was confused about the reason you want to get rid of it, cause they choices you came up with seem to be more of a financial risk to you.

Are you looking at fuel economy or cheaper on tax n stuff? Is it not going to be a pain in the rear to return it back to stock too?
