Changing door loom - Disconnect battery???

I'm hoping to change my door looms today when it's warmed up a little. I don't have a Haynes manual but fairly confident I know what to do with regards to changing the actual loom as its a straight swap.

I just need to know whether I should disconnect the battery prior to loom change (central locking and all that) or just pull some fuses?

    Cheers,
    Dave

The reason I ask is because I'm wanting to leave the engine running with heaters on max, lol. Looking at the owners manual I could get away with pulling fuses 11 and 20 which are central locking and electric windows.

    Cheers,
    Dave

I didn't disconnect my battery when changing the door looms, although I didn't leave the engine running either!

Still if you pull apart the main plug at the hinges first, I doubt you'll have an issue.

That's what I did anyways - disconnect main plug first and then put the engine on. Its just that it was so cold out on the car park at work and the heat was most welcome although I probably did waste a small amount on fuel.

I only got one side done but don't anticipate any issues, or length of time doing the passenger side tomorrow.

    Cheers,
    Dave

For anyone reading this now the only time you need to disconect the battery when changing or unplugging door looms is when the car has side impact airbag sensors

The current door looms don't have the electric/heated mirror wiring. This meant I needed to fit the looms with mirror wiring for the electric/heated wing mirrors I am modding to.

    Cheers,
    Dave
