    Claiming for pot hole damage.

How do you go about doing this?

Got a puncture on the way to work this morning on a by pass. Seriously not happy, tyre is 4 weeks old & to top it all off I had to pay Vauxhall to fix my car yesterday. Just what I need with Christmas just around the corner.

I doubt you would get any response from your local council on this matter.
Same with them Cutting hedges. My friends mum TRIED to claim for a puncture when they cut the hedge around by her. They said the thorn could be from anywhere. They were very dismissive.
I would try ringing them though. maybe try get a picture of the pot hole. were there any witnesses?
    Good luck though.

i feel your pain, i put a pair of brand new tyres on less than 2 weeks ago and ive got a flat already

if you want to claim, you need to get a claim form from your local council and take it from there

you will also need a photo of the bomb site and it will need to be 4" deep before they will do anything about it
    G t c

    soon!

It was at 5:30am so no one about & the pot hole is more like a chunk of Tarmac cut out the road. There wad cones on the side of the road, but no signs. I can't take photos because it's on a by pass.

I have heard this before and unless the pot hole has got a white ring or yellow ring painted around it which means the council are aware of the pot hole then you can't claim back because the council first need to be aware of it being there.

Basically unless anyone else has rung them up or informed them of this pot hole and it has been marked for repair I am afraid it will be a major uphill struggle as I have been there and tried it

I go that way to work every morning, That pot hole wasn't there yesterday. Looks like I'll get denied a refund then. It's a joke really.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Its annoying I no but thats the excuse a council will give basically anything they can do to get out of paying out unfortunately

By all means ring them up and see what they say but just been Cambridge council that are that annoying as rules do seem to vary from area to area.

    Good luck though.

I will do that. The tyre is £80, fallen 452. It's not ground braking expensive, but it's something I can't be doing with.

Thanks though glacious, I'll keep you updated.
