Knocking noise from Passenger side wheels!

    Hi
I have started to hear a knocking noise coming from the passenger side of the car, it sounds like its coming from the rear side of the car but ive had doubts whether its coming from the front.

It happens while im driving, doesnt always happen when i go over bumps or ramps, not always when i brake and steer. bit annoying, thinking whether it could be the anti roll drop link, bearing or even shock.

I thought if it was the shock it would make the noise over every bump but it doesnt always.

Can anyone help on this? ive checked spare wheel is tightened in and seats are secure, seat belts in correctly.

    any advice..?

    thanks

Drop links are the most common thing to fail and knock at the front, and at £10 a side on trade club, it isn't a bank breaker and they're easy to fit yourself.

strut tops or bottom ball joint but double check the droplinks as they are the usual cause

Mate iv got the same problem but with the drivers side. Changed drop link, strut top bearing, wishbone, shock, strut top clips, track rod end. Bascially renewed the whole strut. Really bugging me now. And as u say its on small bumps in the road or rough road that does it. Big bumps etc dont create the noise. Its an on going fault finding mission ha.

Any joy? Ive had what has been described in this thread for the last 6 months. Got droplinks to change, suspension was swapped last year so not that.....does my head in.

    Hi guys,
I have been suffering from a knocking noise you have described from the front passenger wheel area in my 1.6 SRI Turbo. It's been in to vauxhall 3 times and they checked the suspension and anti roll bars and found nothing wrong.
But they have finally found what was causing the knocking which is all 3 engine mounts needed replacing.
Hope that may help with your knocking noises coming from your cars.
