    Overheating Problem

Hi I have a 2003 GSI and a few months ago I had 2 warning lights come on the dash, one being the car with a spanner and the other an engine with a fan, this stopped the cooling fan from working, I placed it on a diagnostic machine which said the control box behind the front bumper needed replacing, I changed this and it was spot on for a few months now it has happened again, I don't want to keep changing the box has anyone else experienced this, if so what causes it
    Cheers

I'd say the aux coolant pump has a fault then mate. It's under the battery so just try disconecting it for now

I disconnected the plug for the pump and put a new fuse in and it didn't blow so it looks like the pump was to blame, cheers, do you know if the 1.7 td has the pump as there is one in the scrap yard
