    Possible turbo issues

    alryt people! got an astra gsi and i think my turbo is on its way out, after looking at advice and what to buy im going with the vxr turbo. wot is the crack with the oil restrictor bolt? and will the turbo and actuator bolt straight on to mine? any advice thanks

    You swap the oil return pipe i think. new vxr turbo comes complete with new manifold and actuator. You use the new one.

    The oil restrictor bolt is there as it is said the oil pressure is too high for the turbo to handle thus causing the failure. This bolt is said to reduce the chances of this happening. But there is no hard conclusive evidence to back this up.....a bit like people saying the removal of the cat can contribute to the failure due to change in back pressure.....

    Many different reasons and causes.
