    Wastegate KEEPS getting stuck open.

Right, i'm starting to get peeeeed off with this lol, almost every 2-3 days i have to knock the wastegate back in as it keeps getting stuck open, anyone know what could be causing this? its a vxr turbo and actuator btw.

also i get a stupid metallic rattling noise only when i let off throttle. its coming from the turbo/exhaust downpipe area. will upload a vid for that tho as its hard to explain more...

The rattling sounds similar to what I was having when my actuator was loose. Was tightened up and all was well. HTH

It'll be a gradual loss of performance as it'll losen itself up more and more. If you tighten it up etc you'll definately notice the difference.

May also be worth checking it isn't getting stuck on the precat.

Checked earlier and it wasnt a loose actuator i cant figure it out, only when i let off throttle and its a very strange metallic rattling.

Mine made that sound when it wasn't tighten up enough, it wasn't a loose nut just set too loose!

Cheers for that mate but i dont think i can tighten either nut up anymore than they are lol. could the wastegate not be tensioned properly or whatever you have to do when adjusting the actuator? i might loosen it all up and then re set it.

Tighten the lower nut to the top nut whilst holding it with another spanner
